Who Am I?

Social entrepreneur, International Speaker, Investor, Author, Mother, Grandmother and so much more.

Defining who I am might seem like a simple question to answer, but as all my entrepreneurs know, we have a habit of taking on so many roles and responsibilities that the question ‘Who am I?’ turns into a complicated one.

So who am I?

I was born in Zimbabwe, a country in Southern Africa. My parents were teachers in the Eastern Valley in Zimbabwe, I have to say my passion grew from here due to the earliest memory I can recall. I remember carrying a baby on my back when I myself was only four years old, my passion for helping children grew from that moment.

32 years ago I started my journey into social enterprise, I completed my degree in social work in the UK and I have never looked back. I wanted to improve the quality of life for young people. It is not just an interest but a passion. I have to help people and put them on a better path than they were previously stumbling along.

Currently, I am a mother of 3, they have all grown up now and have flown the nest. I am a grandmother to one special little boy. I spend my leisure time walking, sometimes for charity as I do an annual walk which started in 2014. When the African drums play, that is my ideal dancing time, I don’t spend enough time doing it, but I should. It captures my soul, and I just find it good fun.

I also spend a decent amount travelling to find out how other areas are doing. I try to meet up with other business people, to find out how they are also doing.

What have I done?

During my journey, I have earned a number of awards. The best enterprise of the year and the best woman entrepreneur of the year spring to mind. It is not the awards themselves that I am proud of, but the acknowledgement behind them. Recognition from your colleagues that you are doing something that truly does have an impact on society.

I am a qualified social worker and therapist, which I believe helps me during my work.

Fostering

Every child deserves a home and a family of their own. They need that structure, that love and a place where they are truly accepted, no matter what. I work towards finding families for children in care, as part of my social enterprise, but I have also fostered children as well.

I truly respect all foster carers out there, as I believe that their impact on society is invaluable. They open up their hearts, homes and lives and make a difference not just to society but to the children they bring into their lives.

My silent heroes.

What do I do?

Through my ‘Walk with me’ brand, which came about from my Walk with me book, I mentor individuals looking to make a bigger impact.

How can I help you?

I can be your sounding board, the middleman who can open my little black book and connect you with the right people. I walk the path with you so that you do not undertake your journey alone.

I can also help you to monetize your passion, and how to run a business successfully. How do you promote yourself? How do you gain clients? I can help you answer these questions.

Ultimately, I make sure you are aligned with your purpose.

Why do I do this?

It comes down to the fact that 32 years ago, I found myself in a very lonely situation. I was setting up my business, and taking my journey alone. I was going in the direction I wanted, but there was no-one to turn to, no-one to ask and no-one to help with my problems. I want to be the person that makes the journey less lonely for you, I want to be there at your side when you have a question and when you need help.

You don’t have to take this journey alone, I will walk with you.

Who are you?

How do you identify yourself?

How do you make an impact?

Remember

If your idea doesn’t scare you, it isn’t big enough!

Wishing you growth and happiness,
Nyasha
